Singapore has no shortage of laptop repair shops. Choosing one is harder than finding one. Some shops are quick with screens and batteries, some specialise in MacBooks, and some do chip-level board repair or data recovery. Below are ten shops worth considering, what each one says it offers, and what to check before you hand over your laptop. Details come from each shop’s own website, checked on 18 October 2026.

Apple’s official options
For a MacBook still under warranty or AppleCare, check Apple first. Apple offers repairs at the Genius Bar in its Singapore stores (Orchard Road, Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport), at Apple Authorised Service Providers, or by post. Apple says in-store diagnostics are free and its repairs are guaranteed for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty, whichever is longer. Independent shops can’t use your Apple warranty, and an independent repair may affect it.

What to check before you choose a shop
- A written quote first. Ask for the price and expected timing before any work starts, and whether diagnosis is charged if you decline.
- Warranty length and what it covers. Parts only, or parts and labour? 30 days and six months are very different.
- Part quality. Ask whether the screen or battery is original, OEM-grade or a cheaper alternative, and how that affects the price.
- Board repair ability. For no-power and liquid damage, a shop that does chip-level repair may save the board, and your data, instead of replacing it.
- Your data. Back up first if you can (see the 3-2-1 backup rule). Ask whether the shop needs your password, and why.
- Company laptops. Have the BitLocker recovery key ready, and check with IT about any BIOS password or Activation Lock.
Common questions
Is it worth repairing an old laptop?
Often yes. A battery or SSD can add years for much less than a new laptop. As a rough guide, if the repair costs more than about half the price of a suitable replacement, buying new usually makes more sense.
I spilled something on my laptop. What should I do?
Switch it off and unplug it straight away. Don’t turn it back on to check, and don’t dry it with heat. Get it to a shop the same day, because corrosion keeps spreading. See liquid damage.
My laptop battery is swelling. Can I keep using it?
No. Stop using and charging it, and get the battery replaced promptly. A swollen battery is a fire risk.
