Laptop Battery Replacement in Singapore
Battery dying by lunchtime, shutting down at 30%, or only working when plugged in? We test and replace laptop batteries at our Bugis store, and we treat swollen batteries as a safety job.
WhatsApp 9011 1239Visit usWe’re an independent repair shop. We replace batteries in Windows laptops from all the main brands, from business ultrabooks to gaming laptops and 2-in-1s. It’s free to ask for a quote on WhatsApp. Send us the model name and, if you can, a battery report (see the FAQ below), and we’ll tell you whether a new battery is likely to help.
Signs your laptop battery needs replacing
- Much shorter battery life than when the laptop was new, even with the same work.
- Sudden shutdowns. The laptop turns off at 20% or 30%, or the percentage jumps around.
- Only works when plugged in. Unplug it and it dies straight away.
- “Plugged in, not charging” or a battery warning from Windows or the maker’s app. This can also be a charger or charging fault. See laptop charging port repair.
- The case is bulging. The trackpad stops clicking, the keyboard lifts or the laptop rocks on a flat table. Read the safety note below.
Swollen battery? Stop charging it
A swollen lithium battery can catch fire. If the case is bulging or the trackpad has lifted:
- Unplug the charger and shut the laptop down.
- Don’t press on the bulge, pierce it or try to flatten the case.
- Keep it on a hard, non-flammable surface, away from beds, sofas and paper.
- Don’t throw it in the bin. Bring it in or ask us how to transport it.

What we do
A tired battery isn’t always the cause of poor battery life. Background apps, power settings and charging faults can look the same. So we check first and quote before we replace anything.
Battery testing
We check the battery’s health, its charge cycles where the laptop reports them, and whether it holds charge under load.
Rule out other causes
We check the charger, the charging port and the power settings, so you don’t pay for a battery you didn’t need.
Battery replacement
We fit a replacement battery that matches your model’s connector and capacity, then test charging and discharging.
Swollen batteries
We remove swollen batteries carefully and check the trackpad, keyboard and case for damage the swelling caused.
Charging circuit faults
If the battery is fine but won’t charge, the fault may be on the board. See chip-level repair.
Older laptops
Some older business laptops have a removable battery. We’ll tell you if it’s a simple swap you can do yourself.
What affects the cost
We don’t publish a fixed price for battery replacement. The quote depends on:
- Your model. Some batteries are held by a few screws. Others are glued in or sit under the keyboard, which takes more work.
- Part availability. Batteries are model-specific, and some are harder to source than others.
- Extra damage. A swollen battery can bend the trackpad, keyboard or case, which may need fixing too.
Send us your model on WhatsApp for a quote. A photo of the problem and the label under the laptop help us reply faster.
Business laptops & fleets
Batteries are one of the most common repairs on company laptops that are three or four years old. If several staff complain about battery life, it’s worth checking them as a batch. Check warranty status first (see next business day warranty). Some laptops ask for the BitLocker recovery key after the battery has been disconnected, so have it ready. For whole fleets, see managed IT services.
By brand
Brand pages cover the series we see and the other repairs we do on each one.
Battery replacement by brand and model
MacBook?
For MacBooks, see MacBook battery replacement, covering MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. If macOS shows a warning, read what “Service Recommended” means.
Still under manufacturer warranty?
Check with the manufacturer or your reseller first. If the laptop is still covered, the repair may cost you nothing, and an independent repair could affect that cover. Company laptops often come with onsite cover, so see next business day warranty and check the service tag or serial number on the maker’s support site. If the warranty has ended, or the damage isn’t covered, we’re happy to help.
Questions people ask
How do I check my laptop battery health?
On Windows, open Command Prompt and type powercfg /batteryreport. It saves a report showing the design capacity and the full charge capacity. If the full charge capacity is far below the design capacity, the battery has worn. Many makers’ apps also show battery health.
My laptop stops charging at 80%. Is the battery faulty?
Probably not. Many laptops have a battery-care setting in the maker’s app that stops charging at around 80% to slow wear. Check that setting before booking a repair.
Will I lose my data?
A battery replacement doesn’t touch your storage, so your files normally stay as they are. Back up before you bring it in anyway. See 3-2-1 backup.
