Repairs we do
Screen
Cracks, lines, flicker or no picture. Some X1 and Yoga models use OLED or touch screens, so send us the exact model first.
Battery
Short battery life, sudden shutdowns or a battery that is starting to swell. Older ThinkPads and IdeaPads often come in for this.
Keyboard & trackpad
Keys that stick or don’t respond, a TrackPoint or trackpad that won’t click, or a loose hinge on a Yoga or Flex 2-in-1.

Charging port & no power
Won’t charge, won’t turn on or keeps restarting. We check the charger, the USB-C port and the board, and try board-level repair where we can.

Liquid damage
A spill on the keyboard can reach the board. Switch it off and don’t charge it. Read about liquid damage.
Overheating, fans & upgrades
Loud fans or overheating, common on Legion, LOQ and ThinkPad P laptops. We clean, replace fans and can advise on memory or storage upgrades where the model allows it.

Company Lenovo laptops
ThinkPad and ThinkBook laptops are often part of a company fleet. Before you hand one in, check these with your IT team:
- BitLocker recovery key. Many company Windows laptops are encrypted. After a board or storage repair the laptop may ask for the key, so make sure IT can find it.
- BIOS or supervisor password. If the laptop has one, we need IT to provide it or remove it. We don’t bypass these locks.
- Warranty first. Business models are often bought with longer cover, such as a next-business-day onsite warranty. Check that before you pay for a repair.
- Backups. Make sure work files are synced or backed up before the laptop leaves the office.

Still under manufacturer warranty?
Check with Lenovo first. If a fault is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, that is usually the cheapest fix. Opening the laptop or using an independent repairer may affect your warranty, so ask before you book a repair with anyone. If your laptop is out of warranty, or the damage isn’t covered, we’re happy to help.
Questions people ask
Can you repair my ThinkPad screen?
Usually, yes. Touch, OLED and privacy screens need the right replacement panel, so send us the model and machine type first. Prices depend on the model and part. Send us the model on WhatsApp for a quote.
Will I lose my data?
Screen, battery, keyboard and fan repairs don’t normally touch your storage. Board and liquid damage repairs carry more risk. Back up before you bring it in if the laptop still works. A 3-2-1 backup is a good habit.
How do I find my Lenovo model?
Look at the label under the laptop for the model name and machine type. In Windows, you can also check Settings > System > About or the System Information app.
