Laptop Motherboard Repair in Singapore

Signs of a laptop motherboard fault
- No power at all with a known-good charger. No lights, no fan and nothing on screen.
- Power lights but no picture, on the laptop screen and on an external monitor.
- It turns on, then off again after a second or two, or keeps restarting before Windows loads.
- Beeps or flashing lights at start-up. Many makers use these codes to point to a board fault.
- Ports, Wi-Fi or the keyboard stop working all at once, often after a spill or a drop.
- A hot spot or burning smell near one area of the base. Unplug it and stop using it.
What we do
Many faults that look like a dead motherboard turn out to be something simpler: a charger, a battery, a loose memory module or a failed screen. We rule those out first, then trace the fault on the board and quote before any repair.
Diagnosis first
We test the charger, battery, memory, storage and screen, then check the power lines on the board to find where the fault is.
Board-level repair

What affects the cost
We don’t publish a fixed price for motherboard repair. Two laptops with the same symptom can need very different work. The main things that change the quote:
- Where the fault is. A failed part in a power circuit is a different job from damage across a large area of the board.
- Your model. Board layouts, parts and access vary a lot between models and generations.
- Spills and earlier repairs. Corrosion, or earlier attempts to fix the board, add work and risk.

Business laptops & fleets
For a company laptop, the board often matters because of the data on it. Many thin laptops have storage soldered to the board, so a board repair can be the way to get files back. Check warranty status first (see next business day warranty). Have the BitLocker recovery key ready, as board work can trigger it, and a BIOS password can also come up. Still under manufacturer warranty?
Check with the manufacturer or your reseller first. If the laptop is still covered, the repair may cost you nothing, and an independent repair could affect that cover. Company laptops often come with onsite cover, so see next business day warranty and check the service tag or serial number on the maker’s support site. If the warranty has ended, or the damage isn’t covered, we’re happy to help.
Questions people ask
Can a laptop motherboard be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Often it can be repaired. Many faults come from one failed part in a power or charging circuit. If the damage is too wide, or a repair isn’t worth it for the laptop’s age, we’ll say so before you spend anything.
My laptop won’t turn on. Is it the motherboard?
Not always. A faulty charger, a flat or failed battery, or a loose memory module can look the same. Try another charger of the right wattage first, then send us the model and what the lights do.
Will I lose my data?
Board repairs carry more risk than most repairs. If the laptop still turns on, back up first. See 3-2-1 backup. If it doesn’t, tell us the files matter and we’ll plan around them.
