MSI model names usually end in a code, such as A2WX or C14W, that marks the generation. Include it when you message us.

Prestige

Premium laptops for work and creative use, including Flip 2-in-1s. Thin designs mean hinges and screens need careful handling.

Common models: Prestige 13 AI+, Prestige 14 AI+, Prestige 16 AI+, Prestige 14 Flip AI+ and N16 Flip AI+.

Modern

Everyday laptops for students and office work. Batteries, keyboards and charging faults are the usual repairs.

Common models: Modern 14, 15 and 16, Modern 14S and 16S, Modern 14 LE and Modern 14 H1M.

Venture, Commercial and Summit

MSI’s business laptops. Summit is an older line we still see in offices.

Common models: Venture 15 AI+ (B3M), Commercial 14 (C1M) and older Summit E13, E14 and E16 Flip.

Creator

Older MSI laptops built for video and design work. Like gaming laptops, they run hot, so fans and thermal paste need attention.

Common models: MSI Creator Z and Creator M laptops.

Titan

MSI’s flagship gaming laptops. They are large and powerful, so cooling and power faults are what we look at first.

Common models: Titan 18 HX, such as the Titan 18 HX A2WX, and the older Titan GT77.

Raider

High-end gaming laptops. Dust in the fans and battery wear are common on older units.

Common models: Raider 16 and 18 HX, Raider 16 and 18 Max HX, Raider A16 and A18 HX, and older Raider GE66, GE76 and GE78.

Vector

Performance gaming laptops. Heavy use means fans, thermal paste and charging faults come up often.

Common models: MSI Vector gaming laptops.

Stealth

Thinner gaming laptops. Less room for cooling means dust build-up shows quickly as heat and fan noise.

Common models: Stealth 14, 16 and 18, Stealth 16 AI+, Stealth 18 HX A2WX, and older Stealth GS66, GS76, GS77 and Stealth 15M.

Crosshair and Pulse

Mid-range gaming laptops. Screens, keyboards and fans are the usual repairs.

Common models: Crosshair 16, Crosshair 16 Max HX, Crosshair A16 HX and Pulse 15, 16 and 17.

Katana, Sword, Cyborg, Thin and Bravo

Budget gaming laptops, often a first gaming laptop for students. Hinges, batteries and fan dust are common faults.

Common models: Katana 15 and 17, Katana 15 HX C14W, Cyborg 14 and 15, and MSI Sword, Thin and Bravo laptops.

Company MSI laptops

Work laptops need a little more care before a repair. Check these with your IT team first:

• BitLocker. Many company laptops have an encrypted drive. Have the recovery key ready, as some repairs can ask for it.
• BIOS passwords. If the laptop has a supervisor password, your IT team needs to remove it or be on hand. We don’t bypass it.
• Warranty first. If the laptop is on a business warranty such as next business day cover, use it before paying for a repair.
• Fleets. We can look at several laptops at once and tell you which are worth fixing.

Questions people ask

Can you repair my MSI screen?

Usually, yes, if a replacement panel is available for your exact model. Screens vary by size, resolution and touch support, so we check the part first. Prices depend on the model and part. Send us the model on WhatsApp for a quote.

Will I lose my data?

Screen, battery, keyboard and fan repairs don’t normally touch your files. Board repairs and liquid damage carry more risk. If the laptop still turns on, back up first. See 3-2-1 backup for a simple way to do it.

How do I find my model?

Look at the label under the laptop. It shows the series and the full model code, such as Katana 15 HX C14W. In Windows you can also open Settings > System > About. Send us a photo of the label on WhatsApp.
