Liquid damage
A spill on the keyboard can reach the board. Switch it off and don’t charge it. Read about liquid damage.
Overheating, fans & upgrades
Loud fans or overheating, common on Nitro and Predator laptops. We clean, replace fans and can advise on memory or storage upgrades where the model allows it.
Acer series we repair
Acer model codes, such as A515 or AN515, are printed on the label under the laptop. Sending us the code helps us find the right part.
TravelMate
Acer’s business laptops, used in offices and fleets. We usually see them for batteries, keyboards and screens after years of daily use. The P4 Spin is a 2-in-1, so its hinges take more strain.
Common models: TravelMate P2 14, TravelMate P4 and P4 Spin 14, TravelMate P6.
Extensa
Budget business laptops. Simple to work on, and battery and keyboard repairs are the common jobs.
Common models: Extensa 15 (EX215-32).
Vero
Acer’s eco range, sold as Aspire Vero and TravelMate Vero. Repairs are much the same as on other Aspire and TravelMate models.
Common models: Aspire Vero and TravelMate Vero.
Swift
Thin and light laptops for work and study. Thin designs mean screens and hinges need care, and older units often need a new battery.
Common models: Swift Go 14 AI, Swift Go 16 AI, Swift 14 AI, Swift Air 14, Swift X, Swift Edge, plus older Swift 3 (SF314), Swift 5 and Swift 7.
Aspire
Acer’s everyday laptops for home and school. Battery wear, keyboard faults and hinge problems are common on older units.
Common models: Aspire Go 14 and 15, Aspire Lite, Aspire 14 AI and 16 AI, Aspire 3, Aspire 5 (A515) and Aspire 7.
Spin (older 2-in-1s)
Acer’s older convertible laptops. Folding the screen back puts strain on the hinges and the screen cable over time.
Common models: Older Spin models.
Nitro
Budget gaming laptops, often bought by students. Dust in the fans, heat and keyboard wear are the usual problems after a couple of years.
Common models: Nitro V 15, Nitro V 16 AI, plus older Nitro 5 (AN515-58), Nitro 16 and Nitro 17.
Predator
Acer’s high-end gaming range. These laptops run hot, so fan cleaning, fresh thermal paste and battery checks keep them running well.
Common models: Predator Helios 18 AI, Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, Predator Triton 14 AI, plus older Helios 300 (PH315), Helios 500 and Triton 300/500.
Chromebook and older ConceptD
Acer Chromebooks are common in schools. ConceptD was Acer’s creator range and is no longer sold. We can tell you honestly if a repair is worth it on an older unit.
Common models: Acer Chromebook and ConceptD models.
Company Acer laptops
TravelMate and Extensa laptops are often part of a company or school fleet. Before you hand one in, check these with your IT team:
- BitLocker recovery key. Many company Windows laptops are encrypted. After a board or storage repair the laptop may ask for the key, so make sure IT can find it.
- BIOS or supervisor password. If the laptop has one, we need IT to provide it or remove it. We don’t bypass these locks.
- Warranty first. Business models are often bought with longer cover, such as a next-business-day onsite warranty. Check that before you pay for a repair.
- Backups. Make sure work files are synced or backed up before the laptop leaves the office.

Still under manufacturer warranty?
Check with Acer first. If a fault is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, that is usually the cheapest fix. Opening the laptop or using an independent repairer may affect your warranty, so ask before you book a repair with anyone. If your laptop is out of warranty, or the damage isn’t covered, we’re happy to help.
Questions people ask
Can you repair my Aspire or Swift screen?
Usually, yes. Send us the model code from the label under the laptop so we can check the right panel. Prices depend on the model and part. Send us the model on WhatsApp for a quote.
Will I lose my data?
Screen, battery, keyboard and fan repairs don’t normally touch your storage. Board and liquid damage repairs carry more risk. Back up before you bring it in if the laptop still works. A 3-2-1 backup is a good habit.
How do I find my Acer model?
Look at the label under the laptop for the model name and code, such as A515-58. In Windows, you can also check Settings > System > About or the System Information app.
