Repairs we do
Screen
Cracks, lines, flicker or no picture. Many EliteBook and Spectre models have touch or privacy screens, so send us the exact model first.
Battery
Short battery life, sudden shutdowns or a battery that is starting to swell. Older EliteBook and Pavilion units often come in for this.
Keyboard & trackpad
Keys that stick or don’t respond, a trackpad that won’t click, or a loose hinge on an x360 or Flip model.

Charging port & no power
Won’t charge, won’t turn on or keeps restarting. We check the charger, the port and the board, and try board-level repair where we can.

Liquid damage
A spill on the keyboard can reach the board. Switch it off and don’t charge it. Read about liquid damage.
Overheating, fans & upgrades
Loud fans or overheating, common on OMEN, Victus and ZBook laptops. We clean, replace fans and can advise on memory or storage upgrades where the model allows it.
HP series we repair
HP renamed most of its range in 2024 and 2025. OmniBook replaced Pavilion, Envy and Spectre, Dragonfly moved into EliteBook, and in 2026 OMEN gaming laptops took the HyperX name (TechSpot, Tom’s Hardware). We repair both the old and new names.
EliteBook
HP’s main business range and the HP laptop we see most from company fleets. After a few years of daily use, batteries, keyboards and screens are the usual jobs.
Common models: EliteBook 6 G1, EliteBook 8 G1 and 8 Flip G1, EliteBook X G1 and EliteBook Ultra G1, plus older EliteBook 600 (630 / 640 / 650 / 660), 800 (830 / 840 / 860) and 1000 models such as EliteBook 640 G10, EliteBook 840 G8, EliteBook 1040 G9 and EliteBook Folio 1040 G3. Older Elite Dragonfly and Elite x360 laptops too.
ProBook
Value business laptops for small offices and schools. Simple to work on, with batteries, keyboards and charging ports as the common repairs. The x360 models also have hinges to look after.
Common models: ProBook 4 G1, plus older ProBook 430 / 440 / 445 / 450 / 455 models such as the ProBook 440 G10, and the ProBook x360 435 and 440, including the ProBook x360 435 G8.
ZBook
Mobile workstations for engineering and design work. They run hot under heavy software, so fans, thermal paste and power faults need attention over time.
Common models: ZBook Ultra, ZBook 8 G1 and ZBook X G1, plus older ZBook Firefly, Power, Studio, Fury and Create models.
OmniBook
HP’s current home and premium laptops, including Flip 2-in-1 models. Thin designs mean screen damage after a drop and hinge wear on Flip models are common reasons they come in.
Common models: OmniBook 3, OmniBook 5, OmniBook 7, OmniBook X and OmniBook Ultra, including Flip models.
HyperX OMEN, OMEN and Victus
HP’s gaming laptops. Hours of gaming mean dust in the fans, dried thermal paste and battery wear. Victus is the budget range, often bought by students.
Common models: HyperX OMEN 15 and 16, HyperX OMEN MAX 16, older OMEN 15, 16 and 17, OMEN Transcend 14 and 16, and Victus 15 and 16.
HP 14s, 15s and HP Chromebook
Budget laptops for home, study and school. Battery, keyboard and charging port faults are the usual jobs, and we’ll tell you honestly if a repair is worth it.
Common models: HP 14s, HP 15s, HP 14 and 15 Laptop, HP 240 and 250, and HP Chromebook models.
Pavilion, Envy, Spectre and Dragonfly (older models)
No longer sold under these names, but still very common. Older units often need a new battery or keyboard, and x360 hinges wear with use.
Common models: Pavilion 13, Pavilion 15, Pavilion x360, Pavilion Aero 13, Envy 13 / 15 / 16 and Envy x360, Spectre x360 and Spectre Folio, and Elite Dragonfly.
Company HP laptops
EliteBook, ProBook and ZBook laptops are often part of a company fleet. Before you hand one in, check these with your IT team:
- BitLocker recovery key. Many company Windows laptops are encrypted. After a board or storage repair the laptop may ask for the key, so make sure IT can find it.
- BIOS or supervisor password. If the laptop has one, we need IT to provide it or remove it. We don’t bypass these locks.
- Warranty first. Business models are often bought with longer cover, such as a next-business-day onsite warranty. Check that before you pay for a repair.
- Backups. Make sure work files are synced or backed up before the laptop leaves the office.

Still under manufacturer warranty?
Check with HP first. If a fault is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, that is usually the cheapest fix. Opening the laptop or using an independent repairer may affect your warranty, so ask before you book a repair with anyone. If your laptop is out of warranty, or the damage isn’t covered, we’re happy to help.
Questions people ask
Can you repair my EliteBook screen?
Usually, yes. Touch and privacy screens need the right replacement panel, so send us the model first. Prices depend on the model and part. Send us the model on WhatsApp for a quote.
Will I lose my data?
Screen, battery, keyboard and fan repairs don’t normally touch your storage. Board and liquid damage repairs carry more risk. Back up before you bring it in if the laptop still works. A 3-2-1 backup is a good habit.
How do I find my HP model?
Look at the label under the laptop for the model name and product number. In Windows, you can also check Settings > System > About or the System Information app.
