We’re an independent repair shop in Bugis. Many Dell laptops we see are Latitude, Dell Pro and Precision machines from offices, plus XPS and Inspiron laptops from home users and students. Dell series we repair

Dell changed its laptop names in 2025. Latitude became Dell Pro, Precision became Dell Pro Max, and Vostro’s place went to Dell Pro Essential. At CES 2026 Dell brought back the XPS name (ITdaily, Dell Singapore). Most laptops we see still carry the older names, and we repair both.

Dell Pro (incl. Dell Pro Essential, Rugged and Education)

Dell’s current business range. They come in for batteries, keyboards and screens after a few years of office use.

Common models: Dell Pro 14 and 16, Dell Pro 14 Plus and 16 Plus, Dell Pro 13 and 14 Premium, Dell Pro Essential 14 and 16, Dell Pro Rugged and Dell Pro Education models.

Latitude and Vostro (older business models)

Still very common in offices. Older units often need batteries, keyboards or hinges, and the 9000 2-in-1s carry more hinge strain.

Common models: Latitude 3000 (3420 / 3440 / 3540), Latitude 5000 (5420 / 5430 / 5440 / 5540), Latitude 7000 (7420 / 7430 / 7440), Latitude 9000 (9420 / 9440 2-in-1), Latitude Rugged, and Vostro 3000 and 5000 models such as the Vostro 3520 and 5630.

Dell Pro Max and Precision

Mobile workstations for engineering, design and video work. They run heavy software for hours, so fans, thermal paste and power faults need attention over time.

Common models: Dell Pro Max 14, 16 and 18, Dell Pro Precision, and older Precision 3000, 5000 and 7000 models such as the Precision 3581, 5570, 5680 and 7680.

XPS

Dell’s premium thin-and-light laptops for home, creative and office use. Thin designs mean screen damage after a drop and battery wear are the usual reasons they come in.

Common models: XPS 13, XPS 14 and XPS 16 (2026), plus older XPS 13 (9300 / 9310 / 9315 / 9340 / 9350), XPS 13 Plus 9320, XPS 13 2-in-1, XPS 15 (9500 / 9510 / 9520 / 9530), XPS 17 (9700 / 9710 / 9720 / 9730), XPS 14 9440 and XPS 16 9640.

Dell, Dell Plus and Dell Premium

Dell’s new everyday laptops for home and study. Battery, keyboard and charging faults are the common jobs.

Common models: Dell 14 and 16, Dell 14 Plus and 16 Plus, Dell 14S and 16S, and Dell 14 Premium and 16 Premium (2025). We also see Dell Chromebook 3000 series laptops from schools.

Inspiron

Dell’s long-running home and student range, still sold as the Inspiron 14 2-in-1. Older units often need a new battery or keyboard, and 2-in-1 hinges wear with use.

Common models: Inspiron 3000 (3511 / 3520 / 3530), Inspiron 5000, Inspiron 7000 and Inspiron 2-in-1 models, including Inspiron 13, Inspiron 15 and Inspiron P116G.

Alienware

Dell’s gaming laptops work hard and run hot, so dust in the fans, dried thermal paste and battery wear are common. See our Alienware laptop repair page for more.

Company Dell laptops

Dell Pro, Latitude and Precision laptops are often part of a company fleet. Before you hand one in, check these with your IT team:

• BitLocker recovery key. Many company Windows laptops are encrypted. After a board or storage repair the laptop may ask for the key, so make sure IT can find it.
• BIOS or supervisor password. If the laptop has one, we need IT to provide it or remove it. We don’t bypass these locks.
• Warranty first. Business models are often bought with longer cover, such as a next-business-day onsite warranty. Check that before you pay for a repair.
• Backups. Make sure work files are synced or backed up before the laptop leaves the office.
